Myles Rowe of Powder Springs, GA gets 1st INDY NXT Victory at Iowa Speedway

Myles Rowe of Powder Springs, Georgia picks up his first career INDY NXT win at Iowa Speedway

(July 14, 2025) – INDY NXT Sophomore, Myles Rowe, broke
through on Saturday at Iowa Speedway scoring his first career win in the
series and the first win of the 2025 season for ABEL Motorsports. With
the win, Rowe becomes the first black driver to win in INDY NXT by
Firestone competition.

With incredibly limited track time due to the storms rolling through
Iowa, Rowe was confident in his No. 99 and the setup they had after a
strong test day here a few months back.

“We’ve been working for a minute for this, we knew we had the pace
it was just about waiting until the last half of the race and seeing
what we could do in traffic. I’m just so ecstatic, this is so good.
ABEL Motorsports works so hard for this, and the amazing support I get
from my family and my entire support system, I’m glad I could finally
do it for them. We don’t stop here, I’m looking for a lot more than
this but glad we could finally get this done,” exclaimed Rowe.

“I knew passing in the beginning wasn’t going to be realistic,
trying to wrap it around the outside. I knew it was going to come down
to traffic and being a little bit strategic and patient and that’s
exactly what I did and I’m glad it worked out that way. We did it, we
did it and I’m just so happy,” stated Myles Rowe.

With another top ten in the books and his second top ten on an oval this
season, New Zealand’s Callum Hedge had a fast car but with passing at
a premium, made moving up the order that much more challenging.

“Finished sixth in Iowa, difficult race to overtake and with all the
rain we got we never had the opportunity to have rubber be laid down in
the second lane which made passing cars a much bigger hurdle. We had the
speed to shake things up but with how tricky passing was we just never
were able to get up front and show what the 17 car was capable of,”
explained Hedge.

“It’s going to be good to have a week off, just to reset and really
mentally prepare for the remaining races in the season. We tested great
at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca before the start of the season, so
now it’s time to get a result,” stated Hedge.

Getting his first race at the Iowa Speedway bullring under his belt,
Jordan Missig felt that the changes they made to the 48 car after
practice provided him a car that he could make moves in traffic happen
with.

“Iowa was a wild one filled with three wide passes, flat out full
throttle, and even a tornado. We found ourselves having to play catch up
after falling behind early in practice, but we took a big swing at the
setup and it really paid off,” explained Missig.

“We had a really fun car to drive, and we were able to make passes and
drive up the field a bit. We will keep grinding and working on our setup
but looking for a little better weekend from the 48-camp going into
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca,” said Jordan Missig.

After a tough outing at the World Wide Technology Raceway in St. Louis,
Jack William Miller was determined to show what he can do on the oval
tracks. After lining up based on points, Miller knew he had a car
underneath him to make his way forward.

“We had great pace at Iowa and we were able to make our way up into
the top five, but unfortunately, we got boxed in by a lap car that
stopped our momentum and pushed us to the back of the pack.
Unfortunately, not the result we had worked for, but it was good to know
that we had the pace to compete up front,” said Jack William Miller.

“It’s going to be good to have a weekend off and just prepare for
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, but I know the Patterson
Dental/HomeLink car will be a rocket,” exclaimed Miller.
